Chicago potter inspired by mid-century forms and Chicago's architectural history.

Anne E. Terpstra is a Chicago potter who throws functional and decorative work for the home and garden. She’s always been drawn to mid-century modern design, and this is reflected in the clean lines of many of her forms. She also loves the contrast of glaze against clay body and explores this through a variety of taped lines that let the fired clay play against the surrounding glaze. Many of her designs are inspired by stained glass from Chicago’s own Prairie style, along with art deco and mid-century patterns.

Christmas Ornament, trees - Taped

$30.00

These ceramic ornaments are smaller versions of my popular wheelthrown Christmas trees. Every tree is thrown as an enclosed form on the wheel and then designs are taped by hand before glazing. When the tape is removed prior to firing, the revealed clay body beneath becomes a design element unique to each piece. These ornaments are perfect for gifting or for adding a handmade element to your own holiday decorating.
