Chicago potter inspired by mid-century forms and Chicago's architectural history.

Anne E. Terpstra is a Chicago potter who throws functional and decorative work for the home and garden. She’s always been drawn to mid-century modern design, and this is reflected in the clean lines of many of her forms. She also loves the contrast of glaze against clay body and explores this through a variety of taped lines that let the fired clay play against the surrounding glaze. Many of her designs are inspired by stained glass from Chicago’s own Prairie style, along with art deco and mid-century patterns.

Ceramic Holiday Tree - Confetti

These ceramic holiday trees, thrown on the wheel in a buff stoneware, will add festive whimsy to any holiday table or winter decor. The confetti pattern is applied by sprinkling recycled glaze chips from other tape resist work onto a still-damp glossy white glaze. Available in a traditional holiday green/red combination as well as a mix of green-only glazes, these cheerful trees are sure to brighten up any room.
