Chicago potter inspired by mid-century forms and Chicago's architectural history.

Anne E. Terpstra is a Chicago potter who throws functional and decorative work for the home and garden. She’s always been drawn to mid-century modern design, and this is reflected in the clean lines of many of her forms. She also loves the contrast of glaze against clay body and explores this through a variety of taped lines that let the fired clay play against the surrounding glaze. Many of her designs are inspired by stained glass from Chicago’s own Prairie style, along with art deco and mid-century patterns.

Ceramic Holiday Trees - Green Crackle

$70.00

These porcelain trees are thrown on the wheel as enclosed forms before being carved into the distinct segments common to many holiday tree silhouettes. The green glaze is applied before firing, and then in the cooling process, a crackle effect spreads across the surface.
