Chicago potter inspired by mid-century forms and Chicago's architectural history.

Anne E. Terpstra is a Chicago potter who throws functional and decorative work for the home and garden. She’s always been drawn to mid-century modern design, and this is reflected in the clean lines of many of her forms. She also loves the contrast of glaze against clay body and explores this through a variety of taped lines that let the fired clay play against the surrounding glaze. Many of her designs are inspired by stained glass from Chicago’s own Prairie style, along with art deco and mid-century patterns.

Ceramic Wall Clock - Pride Pointillism

Ceramic Wall Clock - Pride Pointillism

$250.00

Ceramic clocks are a special find, especially when they are wheelthrown. This one, created from a buff stoneware clay body, features the six colors of the traditional Pride flag, applied as individual dots of glaze. The final effect evokes pointillism, but with a playful twist. Surprisingly lightweight, the clock can hang from a single screw or hook.
