Chicago potter inspired by mid-century forms and Chicago's architectural history.

Anne E. Terpstra is a Chicago potter who throws functional and decorative work for the home and garden. She’s always been drawn to mid-century modern design, and this is reflected in the clean lines of many of her forms. She also loves the contrast of glaze against clay body and explores this through a variety of taped lines that let the fired clay play against the surrounding glaze. Many of her designs are inspired by stained glass from Chicago’s own Prairie style, along with art deco and mid-century patterns.

Mug, stoneware - Walnut and Macadamia

$60.00

These stout ceramic mugs have a rich black walnut glaze on the interior and handle, which gives way to inset rectangles in macadamia and walnut again. It’s the minimalism of midcentury at its best. White stoneware clay peeks through in the simple tape lines that divide each glaze from its neighbor.
