Chicago potter inspired by mid-century forms and Chicago's architectural history.

Anne E. Terpstra is a Chicago potter who throws functional and decorative work for the home and garden. She’s always been drawn to mid-century modern design, and this is reflected in the clean lines of many of her forms. She also loves the contrast of glaze against clay body and explores this through a variety of taped lines that let the fired clay play against the surrounding glaze. Many of her designs are inspired by stained glass from Chicago’s own Prairie style, along with art deco and mid-century patterns.

This tumbler has a wide flared base that breaks at a crisp angle before traveling inward toward the rim. An abstract geometric pattern in three shades of green glaze stand out against the exposed white stoneware clay body. Inspired by mid-century lines, the tumbler set is perfect for water, wine, or whiskey.
