Chicago potter inspired by mid-century forms and Chicago's architectural history.

Anne E. Terpstra is a Chicago potter who throws functional and decorative work for the home and garden. She’s always been drawn to mid-century modern design, and this is reflected in the clean lines of many of her forms. She also loves the contrast of glaze against clay body and explores this through a variety of taped lines that let the fired clay play against the surrounding glaze. Many of her designs are inspired by stained glass from Chicago’s own Prairie style, along with art deco and mid-century patterns.

Pitcher and Tumbler Set - Midcentury Matte Green

Pitcher and Tumbler Set - Midcentury Matte Green

$195.00

This set of four tumblers and a matching pitcher evoke a midcentury vibe while also hearkening back to the Prairie School of design that Chicago is famous for. A matte green glaze allows the dark brown clay body to carry the stained-glass-inspired line work. Both pitcher and tumblers are on the petite side (the artist lived in a condo for 15 years, where the desire for design often collided with tight cabinet space), but are still perfect for a shared pitcher of sangria or a mocktail on the deck.
