Chicago potter inspired by mid-century forms and Chicago's architectural history.

Anne E. Terpstra is a Chicago potter who throws functional and decorative work for the home and garden. She’s always been drawn to mid-century modern design, and this is reflected in the clean lines of many of her forms. She also loves the contrast of glaze against clay body and explores this through a variety of taped lines that let the fired clay play against the surrounding glaze. Many of her designs are inspired by stained glass from Chicago’s own Prairie style, along with art deco and mid-century patterns.

This wall-mounted planter will warm up small porches and decks that don’t have space for larger planters, or it can add a pop of design to a fence or patio area.

It was thrown as an enclosed form and then flattened slightly to make it appropriate for mounting to a vertical surface.

The planter hangs by marine-rated cord and has a small drain hole hidden in the back.
