Chicago potter inspired by mid-century forms and Chicago's architectural history.

Anne E. Terpstra is a Chicago potter who throws functional and decorative work for the home and garden. She’s always been drawn to mid-century modern design, and this is reflected in the clean lines of many of her forms. She also loves the contrast of glaze against clay body and explores this through a variety of taped lines that let the fired clay play against the surrounding glaze. Many of her designs are inspired by stained glass from Chicago’s own Prairie style, along with art deco and mid-century patterns.

Luminary

Luminary

$48.00

Inspired by mid-century forms, these luminaries have been carved by hand to provide dramatic texture and then carved all the way through in place to allow slashes of light to peek through. They will hold a tea light. Perfect for any spot where you’d like a bit more light or drama, these luminaries look just as bright during the day as they do during the night.

  • If you are ordering a set, please note that due to the handmade nature of these items, some slight differences in size may occur from item to item.

  • Ceramic does conduct heat, so when used with an open-flame tea light (as opposed to a battery votive), these can become hot after use. Use caution when handling luminaries after use with tea lights.
