Chicago potter inspired by mid-century forms and Chicago's architectural history.

Anne E. Terpstra is a Chicago potter who throws functional and decorative work for the home and garden. She’s always been drawn to mid-century modern design, and this is reflected in the clean lines of many of her forms. She also loves the contrast of glaze against clay body and explores this through a variety of taped lines that let the fired clay play against the surrounding glaze. Many of her designs are inspired by stained glass from Chicago’s own Prairie style, along with art deco and mid-century patterns.

This set of two porcelain candlesticks are wheelthrown in staggered sizes, making them a perfect complement to any table setting. A twilight glaze breaks blue at the edges while softening into a dusky slate blue on vertical surfaces. These candlesticks are sized to hold candles from 7/8 inch to 1 inch in size.
