A tape resist technique allows the glossy turquoise glaze to contrast beautifully with the exposed clay body beneath on this dark stoneware vase. The clean midcentury lines of the form act as a canvas for the more complex glaze pattern, which is inspired by the gorgeous stained glass found in so much of the artist’s beloved Chicago architecture.
