Chicago potter inspired by mid-century forms and Chicago's architectural history.

Anne E. Terpstra is a Chicago potter who throws functional and decorative work for the home and garden. She’s always been drawn to mid-century modern design, and this is reflected in the clean lines of many of her forms. She also loves the contrast of glaze against clay body and explores this through a variety of taped lines that let the fired clay play against the surrounding glaze. Many of her designs are inspired by stained glass from Chicago’s own Prairie style, along with art deco and mid-century patterns.

Soft Green Serving Bowls

These serving bowls are the definition of "flow." A beautiful green glaze at the rim melts into a white glaze flecked with honey, reminiscent of green-gold fields of ripening hay. Wheel-thrown in porcelain, the deep-bellied bowls work well for serving or for display.
